Sharon Arffa is a writer, visual artist, and retired pediatric neuropsychologist whose creative work blends psychology, humor, and imagination. Originally from Buffalo, New York, she earned her Ph.D. from Indiana University before spending decades helping children and families through her work in neuropsychology.

Alongside her clinical career, Sharon cultivated a lifelong passion for the arts. An accomplished mosaic and colored-pencil artist, she has exhibited her work in solo, regional, national, and international shows, including an invited exhibition at a college art gallery. She also studied screenwriting and film at the Filmmakers Institute in Pittsburgh and has written multiple screenplays for writers’ groups in both Pittsburgh and Austin.

Finding Miranda is her debut stage play. It premiered in Austin, Texas, in 2023 to enthusiastic audiences and showcases Sharon’s love of absurd comedy, layered storytelling, and unconventional characters. Through wit, satire, and theatrical imagination, she explores identity, free will, and the curious relationship between creators and their creations.
